It refers to biological events such as flowering and fruiting of mangrove plants in relation to seasonal changes.

Being pioneers in the field of researching the phenology of mangrove plants in Singapore, students involved in this project, under the guidance of mentors, will be carrying out extensive research on the flowering and fruiting cycles of mangrove plants.

Focusing on the Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve, student researchers will be collating data of the different species of mangrove plants in Singapore over the next few months. This will set the foundation for future research and conservation strategies. Ultimately, the project will be continued on a long-term basis and this website will serve to be a database and tracking system.

This project is under the umbrella of the Raffles Science Institute.

Simply by sending in any data or observations that you have collected from your field trips on the phenology of mangrove plants in Singapore. Any photographs would be gratefully accepted.

All these data will be gathered and your contributions will be stated on this website. With all the information collected, we will soon be able to have a database from which future researchers may refer to.
